Guerilla Advertising for Pressure Washing Business
Speaking from experience, these guerilla advertising strategies will NOT take your pressure washing business to the next level. These marketing strategies do not scale, however, they are great for your business when you are just starting out and looking to build some awareness for your company within your service area.
Putting a Take-Away or Tear-Away on Local Businesses Bulletin Boards
Businesses that have bulletin boards for local events and businesses in the community. This is a great place to put a flyer or take away flyer. Best practices is that you first ask the staff before putting up your flyer. In most cases, a business will be fine with supporting a local business.
Businesses that frequently have bulletin boards:
Coffee shops
Churches
Gyms
Community Centers
Libraries
Chalk Ads on the Sidewalk
This strategy helped Nick Huber grow his moving company to $500k in his first year in business with a $200 advertising budget. Don’t stick your nose up at hard work and elbow grease.
Reverse Graffiti
This involves using a metal stencil to power wash a clean area of a dirty sidewalk. I personally think this method is bad because it:
Requires hauling around your pressure washing equipment
Making a metal or wood stencil
Is more intrusive than chalk
While I think this is a very creative idea, I have heard stories of home owners associations, property managers, etc not taking kindly to someone pressure washing their property unsolicited.
