A Wrapped Truck = You Can Charge More

What I am about to tell you is all anecdotal, but my theory is based on a trend I noticed within my pressure washing business. It appeared to me that in my first year in business before my truck was professionally wrapped, I had a higher percentage of customers upset with HOW QUICKLY I would wash their house (thank you softwashing) in relation to their invoice. Anecdotally it seemed to me that after my truck was professionally wrapped, I received fewer complaints about the speed of my work and fewer raised eyebrows when I pulled up to their house.

Another subtle mind shift that occurred after wrapping my work truck was it validated the professionalism of my business. This added sense of professionalism gave me the confidence to charge more for my services.

How to Fully Utilize a Wrapped Truck to Increase Your Revenue

You WILL get leads from your truck.

You will get people calling your truck. And the more you drive, the more likely someone calls you. With my crew of trucks (keep in mind I had very eye-catching vinyl wraps), I tended to average around 1-4 calls per week from each truck I had on the road. How do I know this, I ask the caller. Since most truck wraps cost between $1,800-$5,000, the truck wrap will normally pay for itself within the first year.

How can you maximize the effectiveness of your truck wrap?

If you take a dedicated lunch break or you have crews that have a dedicated lunch break, give them the option of collecting leads and getting a commission.

How To Implement This Effectively?

Find a food place in a busy commercial area with plenty of people driving and walking by. Take your lunch break here and eat your lunch on the hood of your truck. Sounds dumb right? Well, I would regularly collect 1-3 leads on a 20-30 minute lunch break.

If you park the truck in a busy parking lot and leave it, you might get occasional leads from people taking a picture of the truck or calling the phone number on the truck immediately.

You know what will get you more interested leads? If a crew of friendly-looking (this means smile), clean-cut, uniformed crew of 2 are eating in front of the work truck. Be a little bit louder and friendlier than you normally would and I guarantee you will get more people stopping and asking about pressure washing.

It also helps to park along the front of the stores or in an area of high visibility within the parking lot

Make sure your crew has lead forms to collect the person's contact information. If that person converts to a customer then the crew members who collected the lead will get a commission. Everybody wins here. You get more leads and your workers can get paid more while on lunch break.
